Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026

We collect as little as we can get away with, and we do not sell any of it. This page explains exactly what happens to your information.

1. What we collect

  • Contact form and enquiry data — your name, email, company, website, country, and what you write in the message.
  • Order and billing data — handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation of the purchase and your contact details. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Your intake brief — the answers, facts, quotes, and any images you send us so we can write your release.
  • Server logs — standard web-server records including IP address, browser type, and pages requested. These are created automatically by our hosting provider.
  • Session recordings and heatmaps — we use Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used: clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, and which pages were visited. Text you type into a form is masked by default and is not captured in the recording.
  • Advertising measurement — we run Google Ads, and its tag is on every page. It records that a visit happened and, where applicable, that a purchase followed, so we can tell which ads work.
  • Live chat — our chat widget is supplied by Crisp. Whatever you type into it, and any name or email you give it, is stored by Crisp on our behalf.

2. Why we collect it

  • To deliver the service you ordered: writing, approval, submission, and reporting.
  • To reply to your enquiry.
  • To keep accounting and tax records we are legally required to keep.
  • To protect the site against spam and abuse.

To measure our advertising, and to understand how people use the site so we can improve it.

We do not build a profile of you in order to sell you unrelated things, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for. We should be straight with you about the limit of that promise: the Google Ads tag is capable of adding this browser to a remarketing audience, which is how you might later see a PRESSREADY ad elsewhere. Decline advertising measurement in the cookie banner and that cannot happen — section 7 explains it fully.

3. Selling and sharing

We do not sell personal data. We never have, and there is no arrangement under which anyone pays us for it.

Sharing is a narrower question and we will not fudge it. California's CPRA treats passing data to an advertising network for cross-context behavioural advertising as sharing. Our Google Ads tag can do exactly that, so we treat it as sharing and tell you how to opt out in section 7 rather than claim an exemption we cannot prove.

4. Who we share it with

Only where it is needed to deliver what you ordered, and only the minimum needed:

  • Our payment processor — to take payment and issue receipts.
  • The distribution network — to submit your approved release. It receives the release and the contact details published within it, nothing more.
  • Our hosting and email providers — to run the website and send you email.
  • Microsoft — session recordings and heatmaps, through Microsoft Clarity.
  • Google — advertising measurement, through Google Ads.
  • Crisp — live chat, if you use it.

Each of these is a separate company acting under its own terms. We do not give any of them permission to use your data for their own marketing.

5. How long we keep it

  • Enquiry and contact-form data: 24 months, then deleted. While email delivery is being repaired, a copy of each enquiry is also written to a private file on our server, outside the public website, so that no message is lost. It is covered by the same 24 months.
  • Order records, invoices, and anything needed for tax and accounting: for as long as the law requires us to keep them.
  • Your intake brief and drafts: kept with the order record.
  • Server logs: for the retention period set by our hosting provider, typically a few weeks.
  • Session recordings: kept by Microsoft Clarity under its own retention period and then deleted.
  • Advertising measurement data: kept by Google under its own retention settings.
  • Chat transcripts: kept by Crisp for as long as the conversation is open to us.

6. Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, stop using it, or send it to someone else.

If you are in the EU or the UK, the GDPR gives you these rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, to correct it, to opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of those rights. We do not sell your data. We do treat the Google Ads tag as sharing — see section 3 — so the opt-out is a real right here and section 7 tells you how to use it. The Cookie settings link in the footer of every page is the opt-out; you can also email admin@pressreadynews.com and ask us to do it for you.

Use one address for all of it: admin@pressreadynews.com. We reply within 30 days.

7. Cookies and tracking

An earlier version of this page said the site set no cookies and ran no tracking. That stopped being true when we added advertising measurement and session recording, and it stayed on the page longer than it should have. This section is the corrected version.

Three third-party scripts can run on this site, and a consent banner now controls all three. None of them is loaded before the banner has your answer, and you can change that answer at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.

  • Microsoft Clarity — session recording and heatmaps. Sets its own cookies to recognise a returning session. Form fields are masked, so what you type into the contact form is not in the recording.
  • Google Ads — advertising measurement. Sets its own cookies so a click on one of our ads can be matched to a visit, and can add this browser to a remarketing audience.
  • Crisp — the live chat widget. Sets its own cookies so a conversation survives a page change.

Each is a separate company with its own privacy policy, and each sets its cookies from its own domain. We do not control how long they keep what they collect.

The site also stores one small item in your browser's session storage while you are ordering, to record that you reached the payment step. It contains no personal data, it is cleared as soon as it is read, and it disappears when you close the tab. That one is ours, and it is not a cookie.

The payment page is on our payment processor's own website. Anything it sets is governed by their privacy policy, not this one.

How the banner decides what to ask you:

  • In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, nothing loads until you accept. If you ignore the banner, or close the tab, nothing loads. There are no pre-ticked boxes, and refusing takes exactly as many clicks as accepting.
  • Everywhere else, the three tools start running and the banner gives you one click to stop them. That is the model California's CPRA uses, and it is why the banner wording differs depending on where you are.

Your region is worked out from your browser's own time zone. Nothing about you is sent anywhere to determine it, and no IP lookup happens.

How to change or withdraw your choice:

  • Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. You can turn each of the three on or off separately.
  • Turning something off also deletes the cookies it already set, and reloads the page so the script stops running.
  • Blocking third-party cookies in your browser, or using private browsing, stops all three regardless of what you chose here.
  • For Google specifically, you can also turn off ad personalisation at google.com/settings/ads.
  • If you would rather we handled it, email admin@pressreadynews.com and we will confirm in writing.

We record your choice, when you made it, and whether you accepted everything, refused everything, or picked individually. That record is kept in your own browser, not on our servers.

8. International transfers

We work with clients and providers in different countries, so your data may be processed outside the country you live in, including in the United States.

Where data leaves the EU or UK, we rely on the safeguards our providers have in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Children

This is a service for businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Contact and changes

For anything on this page, including a rights request, email admin@pressreadynews.com.

The data controller is Luna Setter LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801.

If we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects you and we hold your email, we will tell you directly.
